The Indian Patent Office [IPO] have recently again demonstrated their endevour to expedite processing of patent applications in India.
Under expedited examination system, The Indian Patent Office has started to grant patents in 9 to 12 months from date of filing of expedited Request for Examination.
The expedited examination system was introduced under Rule 24C of the Patents (Amendment) Rules published in May 2016. Subject to certain conditions and payment of prescribed fees, Applicant may request expedited examination.
